The importance of an engineering mindset In this blog post, Pernilla Ulfvengren reflects on engineering mindset and CDIO in the context of long-term educational governance. “I
sometimes encounter criticism when I argue for strengthening the focus on
engineering mindset. To me, this feels like a straw man argument.”

| | What’s happening in Service? |
My colleagues and I are involved in the huge project
of coordinating services across KTH. Within the Everyday Services
subproject, where I am involved, there is strong momentum around defining common processes and
exploring how coordination can work in practice.
Within Neighbourhood Services, an area map has
been completed, outlining how tasks will be organised going forward, with the
intention of working more flexibly across boundaries at the whole KTH. In Event Services,
the work is at an advanced stage, and a proposal to the University Director is
reported to be close to completion.
Alongside this, the ITM School Office is gradually
moving into Teams, and since 4 May, internal chat has shifted from Zoom
and Slack."

Teach
confidently in the AI era – apply now!
The new course
“Generative AI for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education” (3 hp) equips university teachers to
navigate generative AI in education. You will develop AI literacy skills, to make informed and ethical decisions about how and when to use AI tools in your teaching, e.g. to make your students use them in a way which is beneficial for their learning. Evelyn
Otero Sola, assoc. prof. in aeronautical engineering at KTH, is taking the
course this spring semester – the first round. Why? – One can
gain new ideas and inspiration for fostering deep learning in ways not
previously considered, opening the mind to new paths within ethical boundaries. Apply for the autumn course by 31 May | | | | |
