Ten upper secondary school projects were honoured in this year's Sustainable Generation AwardsFor the fourth year running, the Sustainable Generation competition was organised, an initiative by the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at KTH and the Företagsam Foundation. The competition, which focuses on the year’s best upper secondary school projects inspired by Agenda 2030, aims to increase young people’s interest in key issues for the future, strengthen their commitment to a sustainable society and inspire schools to teach sustainable development. During the opening ceremony, Björn Berggren and the KTH president Anders Söderholm held short speeches, followed by presentations by the doctoral students. Take the chance to see the poster exhibition in the KTH Library before it ends on Friday, 5 June.

During the autumn of 2026, one group will be meeting for a series of three interconnected workshops to acquire useful tools in these areas, while sharing experiences of academic life with each other in an interactive learning environment. Rising costs of facilities in focus
In his latest blog post, President Anders Söderholm highlights the growing financial pressure caused by rising rental costs at KTH and calls for targeted government support. While recent funding for the Royal Institute of Art is a welcome step, more action is needed to address the structural challenges facing universities in Stockholm.

Project
update: Neighborhood-based support
A project is underway to develop a proposal for organising support for facilities, security, and related services in a more neighbourhood-based structure at KTH. The aim is also to clarify and coordinate other day-to-day services, making them easier to use and more consistent across KTH.
By 30 June, the project will give a proposal for further review before a decision is made. About

KTH at Almedalsveckan
KTH is organising and participating in numerous panel discussions and other events during Almedalsveckan (Almedalen Week), which takes place in Visby June 22–26. At least 30 KTH representatives, including President Anders Söderholm, researchers and other staff, will be present to contribute to the public debate.

Registration open: Unite! Widening Staff Week at KTH

MFA will
become mandatory for students on 1 September, 2026
MFA (multi-factor authentication) remains the single most important security measure to protect KTH’s IT systems against various types of attacks or intrusions. KTH is now taking the next step by introducing MFA for all students starting 1 September, 2026.
Information
to new and current students will be sent at the end of week 23. When selecting
the date for mandatory MFA, consideration was given to programme students’ course
registration period, which closes on 31 August.
During this
past spring, the Examination Administration has tested procedures for exams in
computer labs and will provide additional staffing during the digital
examinations in the autumn.

| Extended deadline for course analyses over the summerTo allow more people to do course analysis during the summer, the time before automatic publication is extended. For the vast majority of courses, this means that the deadline will be 21 August. Some courses, with a different end date than 1 June, need to be a little extra aware of when the actual deadline is.
