Madeleine new VHC at EGI
Hi Madeleine Karpegård, what did you do before joining KTH? "I worked in the recycling industry at REMONDIS. As the Administrative Manager for Administration and Customer Services, I was responsible for the staff and developed ways of working, processes and customer service."
What do you think will be your most important strengths in your new role?
"Probably my analytical skills, curiosity about systems and processes, and ability to structure information. My experience of working closely with operational teams and driving continuous improvements will also be valuable."
Tell us something about yourself that's not work-related. "I've always enjoyed working with numbers and have a surprisingly good memory for figures." 📈 | |

| | | | | | Summer operational optimisation saved 40 MWh
| | | | Approximately 40 MWh, equivalent to the annual electricity use of two Swedish detached houses, was saved this summer thanks to joint operational optimisation at KTH Campus. By adjusting ventilation, lighting and other technical systems to reflect lower use during the summer, energy use could be reduced compared with normal operation. The experience gained is now being used to inform future measures to reduce energy use and KTH’s climate impact. Explore KTH's Sustainability Objectives 2026–2030/2045 | | | Salary setting at KTH
